TCS announced the kickstart of the onboard process for freshers from mid-July. This will give the freshers more guidance, who were desperately waiting for the onboarding process to begin. Lateral hiring will also begin, but with certain skills and technologies selected. TCS confirmed that, from mid-July, freshers will be asked to join the company. TCS had already promised to respect job offers rolled out to 40,000 freshers and the on-board process would kickstart from mid-July onwards. Those are the freshers recruited from campus interviews, walk-ins and from consultancies. Milind Lakkad, EVP and Global Head, Human Resources, TCS confirmed this development and explained why the shift in academic year was delayed.
This is indeed good news for all freshers who’d already received the letter of offer from TCS but was waiting for the company’s confirmation of the date of joining. Meanwhile, TCS has also announced that some selected skills will now kickstart the lateral hiring process, beginning in mid-July. Notice here, that all lateral recruiting was frozen due to coronavirus pandemic and lockout. This was confirmed by Rajesh Gopinathan, CEO of TCS.
This lateral hiring of will kickstart in new and high-demand skills. It includes cloud computing and cloud migration according to the reports coming high. As of now, the exact number of lateral hirings has not been reported. While, compared to the last year, Tata Consultancy Services posted a 13.8 per cent decrease. It is income in the June quarter. Tata Consultancy Services made Rs 8131 crore profits in June quarter of last year. They managed to churn out Rs 7008 crore profits this year, which is a 5 per cent decline. Revenues for the same duration stood at Rs 38,322 crore, which is a 6.3 per cent decline over last year.
