RBI Announces Bank Closure Dates

As per RBI (Reserve Bank Of India) in August, banks will remain closed on days like Eid-ul-Adha, Raksha Bandhan, Sri Krishna Janmashtami, Independence Day, Ganesh Chaturthi in some cities.  At the same time, RBI said there are some festivals such as Srimanta Sankardeva, Teej, Karma Puja and Tiruvanam / Indra Jatra’s Tithi, which only celebrate different states.

Banks in those states will remain closed that day. Under a case like this, you can guess how many days Bank Holiday will be in August. In this Coronavirus age, from now on, you have to plan how to manage the banking related tasks. If you haven’t done that, in the month of August, you ‘d regret a lot. Let us also tell you the date on which state bank will be on holiday in the country.

The month of August is 5 Sundays. Those dropped 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30. During these days banks are on holiday. The second and fourth Saturdays will both be on August 8 and 16. Each of these days, there will be a bank holiday. That is, banks will in these seven days remain closed across the country. Around the same time, this month will also have several festivals and activities coming up.

RBI List of Bank Holidays

August 1: In most of the states, banks will remain closed due to e-ul-Adha.

August 3: Banks in Ahmedabad, Dehradun, Jaipur, Kanpur and Lucknow will remain closed due to Raksha Bandhan.

August 11: Banks in Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Hyderabad and Patna will remain closed for Sri Krishna Janmashtami.

August 12: Due to Shri Krishna Janmashtami, banks will be closed in Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Lucknow, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla and Srinagar.

August 13: Banks in Imphal will remain closed due to Patriot Day.

August 15: Banks will remain closed all over the country on the occasion of Independence Day.

August 20: Banks will remain closed for the Tithe of Srimanta Sankardeva in Guwahati.

August 21: Banks in Gangtok will remain closed for Teej.

August 22: Banks in Ahmedabad, Belapur, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Nagpur and Panaji will remain closed for Ganesh Chaturthi.

August 29: Banks in Jammu, Ranchi and Srinagar will remain closed for Karma Puja / Ashura.

August 31: So, Banks in Gangtok, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram will remain closed for Indra Jatra / Thiruvonam. Because of which banks will have a holiday in the whole country and some states.
