EPFO Revised KYC Data for 52.62 Lakh Subscribers Available

If you are looking to apply for a provident fund (PF) advance after having corrected you’re Know Your Customer (KYC) data, you can do so now. In April and May 2020, the EPFO revised KYC data for its 52.62 lakh subscribers. This includes Aadhaar seeding for 39.97 lakh subscribers, mobile seeding for 9.87 lakh subscribers (UAN activation), and bank account seeding for 11.11 lakh subscribers.

To allow KYC seeding, the EPFO has corrected the subscriber details resulting in 4.81 lakh name corrections, 2.01 lakh birth correction date and 3.70 lakh Aadhaar number corrections over the last two months. PF KYC is a one-time process that allows members or employees or subscribers to verify their identity by linking Universal Account Number (UAN) to KYC data. The KYC details are data from the employee like information on the PAN, Aadhaar and bank account. If one on the EPFO Member Portal has not updated this information yet is easier. It is to complete them by visiting the UAN Portal of the EPFO.

When the KYC is updated and seeded with a bank account and Aadhaar. The assertion can be submitted online without the employer’s attestation. A member may view his monthly statement of contribution by logging on to the UAN portal. A member requires UAN (Universal Account Number) to update or change the details. It is in KYC (Know Your Customer) on UAN EPFO portal. Member can log in to the EPFO UAN portal and update KYC online by uploading the appropriate documents. The portal introduced an online request for correction in name, date of birth, and gender.

Aadhaar DOB Accepted as Valid Proof

So, as per a recent step by EPFO, the date of birth recorded in Aadhaar. Thus, it accepts as valid proof of the date of birth. It is for rectification purposes, providing the difference is less than 3 years in the two dates. Also, the PF subscribers may apply the requests for correction online. So, this will allow the EPFO to immediately verify the members’ birth date online. Also, it is with the Unique Indian Identification Authority (UIDAI), thereby authenticating and the processing time of requests for change.
